A New American cocktail bar and kitchen in an 1891 building on the old Franklin Avenue.

The building's history — once frequented by, per an old Salt Lake Herald account, "cowboys, tin-horners, and higher-toned gamblers" — gives it atmosphere no new build can fake. It's 21-and-over and one of downtown's most consistently praised cocktail-and-dinner rooms.

A contemporary American scratch kitchen opened in 2018 by the team behind The Cliff Dining Pub.

Owners Wendy and Jason Lewis and Matt and Nikki MacKay designed the room as a tribute to Draper's farming history, mixing rustic and industrial detail. Locally sourced plates and hand-crafted cocktails make it the south valley's reliable nice-dinner option.

A French-inspired restaurant and event estate on 22 acres with gardens, a vineyard and a boutique winery.

Now around its 50th year, it's Utah's storybook special-occasion address — walk the courtyards and vineyard before dinner. Sunday brunch is a local tradition in its own right.

A 1920s log lodge turned fine-dining restaurant, built as an anniversary gift from steel baron L.F. Rains to his wife.

The logs were shipped in from Oregon, and the canyon setting has made it Salt Lake's anniversary restaurant for decades. The kitchen sources from local and regional organic purveyors.
